Just curious what keyboard/mouse are you using (and how do you like it?) I'm personally using an old Logitch Elite keyboard www.amazon.com/Logitech-967234-0403-Keyboard-Elite-Black/dp/B00006FRUIand a red logitech MX510 mouse. Both work well, but I haven't bought a computer part in a while and these are the oldest parts of my rig. Just figured I'd get the opinions of some fellow gamers before I blew some cash. ST

I'm using a Logitech G9 mouse. It's pretty sick, I get to change the speed on the fly and there's different user modes, like for gaming and everyday use. My keyboard is a 20$ one from Microsoft. Gonna get a G15 some day tho.

Cool, 2 votes for the new logitech mice... Tell me something if you can about the programmability. I used to be able (with their old software) on my 510 to have a button open windows explorer. Since I went to vista (which kills using the old software), I don't have that option anymore. Is this available with the new ver? Edit: Not apparently, though somebody has made an "addon" for setpoint that gives you tons of other options... www.mstarmetro.net/users/rlowens/pretty nice stuff, trying it out now. Thanks ST

Get what Money posted, I have the G5 mouse and I love it to death. I didn't even have to install setpoint to use it either and all the buttons work without it. I would buy the Eclipse keyboard but I don't have the cash for it right now. I did get to use it over at a friends house and it is pretty sweet.

I just bought the Microsoft Wireless Desktop Keyboard/Mouse 1000 kit with my new computer, just a cheap multimedia keyboard and a basic optical mouse, does the job though

Thanks for the replies all... I waited to post until after I had my new setup for a few days. I ended up with: Keyboard: Saitek Eclipse II. I decided on this since I would rather have a simple keyboard than one of the 10000 key logitechs. I have to say that I'm not completely impressed with the quality, though. The keys feel very good and the base is nice and heavy. However, the silver plastic ring around the outside of the unit feels pretty cheap. The wrist rest isn't supported in the middle and bows when you rest your hand on it. Again, cheap feeling. Overall it operates well and I like the backlit keys more than I thought I would. Mouse: Logitech mx518. Old but reliable. I was going to go with the G5 but noticed that the buttons on the front and back of the scroll wheel have been moved. I use these to "cruise" (continuous scroll) a lot and didn't want to screw that up. Also it looks like the G5 has the "tilt" wheel which I find distracting. Yea, the 518 is less dpi and refresh rate than the newer models, but it is more than my old 510 and I didn't seem to have any problems doing well with it Mousepad: Icemat v2 black. My old pad was getting pretty ragged and I wanted something different, so I figured what the heck. This thing is *awesome*. My mouse just glides over this like nothing was there. This has taken more getting used to than the new keyboard/mouse, but I like it a lot. We'll see how well it holds up with time. I do wish they offered versions with patterns or custom images instead of solid colors. ST
