Name : Soviet Axeman
Steam ID : 0:1:17451833 *I assume this is the GUID you wanted*
I do not know who the admin was who banned me
The incident occured at around 7:00 pm Novemeber the 24th , 2008 *standard pacific time*
I was on the empire's nacho and juicebox offical server , version 2.12
I do not know for how long I was banned
Explanation: Ok , first of all the reason I was supposedly banned for wasn't warned for before , and it wasn't what it seems. First of all earlier I was sining into my mike *long story short , it involves my name and soviet national anthem , was not HLSS* when I was asked to stop *via an unwarned mute* I stoped and politely asked to be unmuted , which I was , that was entirely my bad.
Then I went to engineer and the command viechle was up on this ridge on the map "slaughtered" and I noticed the NF had artillery , so I started putting walls up in front of it , to block some minor shots and conceal the commanders position since the commander , after repeated requests from many on the team , did not move. So I built up a wall as high as I could *before I was accidently banned anyway* from the Radar to the Edge of the commander , looping around the other side and back* after I started building up the height I was kicked from the server with a message.
"banned for walling in CV on slaughtered" *or maybe it was canyon , one of the 2 , it was the green map with BE in the southeast*
Anyway I hope this can be resolved , and I do have serveral witnesses.
Steam Names : Ichigo .:TMSĀ„:. Gen. Cwal728 C4Chaos42
There was also one using a cyrillic letter cap that made "fatality"
EDIT : also I forgot , you can look in the logs and look for some chat possibly after I was banned to see people's protests , and to see who was there so you can ask and follow up??

The admin who banned you will respond shortly.
And for the record, "EDIT : also I forgot , you can look in the logs and look for some chat possibly after I was banned to see people's protests" Just because your teammates say it's okay doesn't mean it's allowed.

Thank you , I am sorry for the trouble.
Is there any way to find out how long I am banned for?
Also the reason I put in the dialouge about the logs was because I wanted you guys to check there to see if there was some explination , protest , or see if an admin gave me a warning I wasn't aware of.

Soviet Axeman,
First of all, thank you for coming here to appeal this ban. I was the issuer of the ban and I would like to make it clear that the ban was not an accident by any means. However, it is not the end of the world. I had intentions to lift your ban, but a busy week and Thanksgiving travel plans got in the way of me doing that, and I forgot to go ahead and lift it.
I have recognized your name over the past weekend and feel that you, albeit new to Empires, have been playing on the Nachos & Juicebox server long enough to at least know that griefing of any sort is intolerable. I only bother to warn new players that I've not seen before, because they are far less likely to know better.
Marcos Spartanos was the BE comm at the time on emp_canyon, and though your singing was not terrible in itself, Marcos continuously tried to communicate via voice with the team and despite his consistent efforts, you kept singing over him. Restoring clear communication with him as quickly as possible was far more important (and convenient) than going through the riff raff of warning or asking you, and the mute was only temporary. No harm done there.
Later, I saw you walling in the BE comm, traced the walls, and issued a ban. As I stated above, I felt you knew better. I guess I may have been mistaken about your knowledge of how extensive griefing is, but even if you are jokingly walling in the comm, the round still holds potential for a loss if the comm is walled in at any point in time for any duration. The ban was meant to be temporary, but I typically enter in 0 for the time (thus making the ban permanent) because I find it easier/quicker than thinking about how many exact minutes I want the individual to be banned for, and I filed a report here on our forums for my future reference so I could come and lift the ban after.
I really have no qualms with you, and since the night of your ban, we have revised our MOTD to be far more descriptive of our rules.
The backlash I got from others after issuing your ban was unacceptable and unwarranted. Players cannot waiver their friends or teammates of the consequences of their actions. Some of those protesters were merely protesting because they liked you. Some of them were protesting because they incorrectly think that griefing is limited to command vehicle suicide (griefing is actually intentionally doing anything that hinders your team's chances of winning or enjoying a round). I've been playing Empires for over 2 years, and cannot be fooled by these select few and their narrow definition of griefing. I've seen many rounds thrown away because someone thought it might be cute to wall in a command vehicle or even spam smoke/concussion grenades inside of friendly barracks. Your witnesses may come forth all they want, but I have nothing to hide or lie about, and I doubt they would be making up anything they say, but they would be incorrect about what is/isn't griefing. Most of the protesters were unrecognizable names, and were likely new to Empires.
When you connect to our server again, you will see the revised MOTD. Please take note of it. I'm not worried about you at all. I am quite concerned that the disgruntled others may be problematic in the future, as they feel the rules only apply when they want them to, rather than at all times.
Any one of our other Empires admins would have handled the situation similarly if not identically. I was quite disheartened to hear people basically sitting there insulting me and saying "wow this server is strict," "i bet you're just flaunting your admin and defending your decision to make you look like you did what was right because you're afraid of losing your admin," and other such statements. All of those are ridiculous anyway, as I happen to be one of the most lenient Empires admins and I typically only ban for racism and griefing. I'm quite 'lax about everything else under the sun. I also never doubted that our other admins would have done the same as I did, because we recently held a meeting to verify our position on griefing, exploiting, and everything else about the server.
I hope you won't have a bad taste in your mouth from our server. I think you'll find it is one of the most enjoyable because it is one of the most actively administrated servers. We enforce rules that we feel will promote uninterrupted rounds without having griefers and exploiters rule the server like most of the other idle servers.
It should also be understood that a lot of our admins, myself included, actively administrate about 3 of the other most popular Empires servers. We network information around about troublemakers, we typically share a common set of rules, and we try to make Empires approachable for newcomers.
We really are here to serve you and everyone else who plays on our server, so I hope there will be no hard feelings - I haven't any hard feelings toward you.

Thank you , and yes I am sorry, I was walling around the command viechle and building it up so thier artillery wouldn't see it on cliff from their western positions and it could just back up quickly if needbe.
I am sorry for the inconvience. I will also take note of the MOTD.

Well at that point there was no artillery tanks on NF and no grenadiers in the area, as it was still quite early game. But even if there were, therein lays the problem because there's really no sufficient means of defense against artillery other than having the CV keep moving around to different positions which can't be done if it is walled in. The artillery shells can just bombard the CV over and over right from the top, the walls offer no protection from the shells. As you continue to play Empires you'll pick up on the splash damage radius of the weapons and etc.
