if i remember correctly it is illegal to spawn kill with super weapons/vechials like the ion tank. now in all chaos maps it has the objective to get the ion tank to the top. now the ion tank has a long way to go but if it gets to a certain part of the ummm trail/ramp the defending team is basically screwed because all it has to do is keep firing into our spawn and it can take its sweet time getting to the objective now im just hoping this can be fix when the new(if) chaos map comes out

I think that there is an exception to this general rule, because of the map's design. In the version without the floating platform to help linkers get up to the top, it is nearly impossible to get the ion tank to the finish if your team is waiting for the tank. I do agree spawnkilling is cheap, but on this map it is part of the strategy for the attackers. If only people wouldn't camp the ion tank and not finish to rack up points.

Spawn killings isn't exactly happening. In the new chaos, theres a shield to protect people when they spawn. Now when you leave your spawn you die but thats not spawnkilling (at least i dont think). And chunkus is right, if the tank didn't, that map would be impossable (not that it isn't already...) Heck I don't want chaos fixed, I want it to return to normal!

Think of it like ionificiaton, fail to protect your link turrets and you lose -- fail to kill every last linker on the tank and you lose. the last stretch is really just some just desserts for the attacking team after they suffer through countless tries and 360 degree sniper fire.

You have 3 second spawn shield. You should be able to get your weapons and leave from that area. That sucks for you if you suck and you can't get away in that amount of time. If you can't then practice. or just don't play. Phantom is right. there is a shield that also blocks the shot from making it to your base spawn point.

If you're talking about Reloaded, your point is null because the shield doesn't work. I know this because I created the "Reloaded" version and only the newest version, the name of which escapes me at the moment, is the only one that works. I'll be glad to find an updated version or whatever, if you'd like, although I do second Pi's statement on the matter. Also, the "three second" spawn delay excuse is foolhardy and does not guarantee survival for any caliber of player. Ninety percent of the time, when the tank gets to the final corner, the attackers have already won. If you want to avoid this, just update the map, which would also relieve the nuisance of shock rifles at the first objective, as well as a variety of other ailments. As an uplifting epilogue though, it was a de facto rule over at the Omni server that if an attacker in the ion tank purposefully camped the defenders spawn without completing the objective, the player was at the very least kicked out of the ion tank. I don't think this rule would be too hard to follow, as it takes an extreme not a very nice person to actually try this. I'd consider that in the future, as a countermeasure to this rancid tactic.

Yea, I think the working shield one is Revolt (the one with the moving platform). I could be wrong... I can't stand that version so I haven't played it in a while. Extended was the "good" one. It was on the server for a while and got huge play but was removed because people kept exploiting to the next objective in several places. Kewlude fixed it to prevent skipping in the version he posted in this thread.... borforum.proboards107.com/index.cgi?board=ut04&action=display&thread=2964but the map hasn't shown up on the server yet. In either case, I think the spawn killing is just part of the map. I think of it as a reward for a driver that makes it to the end . ST

Just put back chaos extended and ban people who glitch -_- that is the best solution
